CashSnap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What We Collect

When you use CashSnap, we may collect:

• Photos you scan — images you take within the app to identify and price items.
• Scan results — item name, condition, estimated price range, and AI-generated description.
• Listing data — items you post to eBay or other marketplaces through the app, including price and platform.
• Anonymous user ID — a randomly generated identifier to associate your data with your device. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information unless you contact support.
• Country — the country you select during onboarding, used to show relevant marketplace options.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To identify items and provide price estimates using AI.
• To generate marketplace listings (title, description, price).
• To display your scan history and listing tracker within the app.
• To enforce per-user daily scan limits.
• To improve the accuracy and performance of our service.

3. Third-Party Services

CashSnap uses the following third-party services which process your data:

• Google Gemini API — your photos and follow-up context are sent to Google's AI to identify items and estimate prices. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider. Data is stored securely in the EU/US. Supabase's privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
• eBay — if you list items through eBay, your item data is shared with eBay's API. eBay's privacy policy applies.

4. Data Retention

Your scans and listings are stored until you delete your account. You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete account & data in the app.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Delete all your data by deleting your account in the app.
• Contact us with any privacy questions or concerns.

6. Children's Privacy

CashSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
